Let us get real—spiritual attacks are not just some religious idea. They are happening right now, all around us. You will see in the universe that we exist in that there are opposites, such as light against darkness, truth against lies, and God's Kingdom versus Satan's dominion.
These are not just opposites—they're enemies locked in battle.
One side wants us to have freedom, purpose, and life. The other! It wants to steal, kill, and destroy everything good in us. (John 10:10).
Where This War Started
Before the world existed, God, the Almighty, infinite, and complete in Himself, existed. Yet within His nature was something incredible: He was not alone. Here in lies one God, the Father, the Word (who became the Son), and the Spirit—all one, all God (John 1:1, Genesis 1:26). When He spoke creation into being, His Word—Jesus—was there, the very power that shaped the universe (Colossians 1:16).
But there was another in those heavenly realms—Lucifer, the angel of light. He saw God's glory, power, and authority and wanted it himself (Isaiah 14:12-14). Pride twisted him, and rebellion turned him into Satan—the enemy of everything God loves. And since he could not overthrow God, he went after the next best thing: 'us'.
Why You're Under Attack
When God created man, He did not just create another creature. He made us in His image—His likeness (Genesis 1:26-27). He looked at us and said, "This is very good" (Genesis 1:31). That's why Satan hates us. He cannot touch God, so he goes after what belongs to Him—us.
His game? 'Deception.' He twists truth, feeds lies and sets traps to distract us from God's purpose. He attacks our minds, our health, our relationships—anything to make us doubt, fear, or turn away from the One who loves us.
But Here's the Truth:
You are Not Defenceless.
Satan wants you to think you are powerless, but that's a lie. God did not leave you unharmed in this fight. He gave you:
The Blood of Jesus—to break every chain of sin and shame (Revelation 12:11).
The Name of Jesus —the most powerful name in existence, before which demons tremble (Philippians 2:9-10).
The Word of God—your sword to cut through lies (Hebrews 4:12).
The Holy Spirit—your guide, your power, your defender (John 16:13).
Prayer & authority—because when you resist the devil, he has to flee (James 4:7).
How to Fight Back:
1. Know Who You Are
You are not a victim. You are a child of God, made in His image, walking in victory.
The truth of God's Word is our weapon, the Sword of the Spirit, as listed in Ephesians 6, so get to know your fighting weapon and your defensive weapons, which are the truth of God's Word. The more you know God's voice, the harder it is for the enemy to trick you.
3. Pray with Fire
Not weak, religious words, but bold, faith-filled prayers that shake hell's gates. We have not received a spirit of fear but one of boldness, so walk and pray in the power and might of boldness.
Jesus gave you power over the enemy (Luke 10:19).
'Use it.'
Final Thought
This war is not optional—you are in it whether you like it or not. But the good news is Jesus has already won the battle.
Satan is a defeated foe. Jesus crushed him at the cross, and now it is just cleanup time. So, stand firm. Fight back. And never forget—greater is He who is in you than in the world (1 John 4:4).
Stay sharp. Stay strong. The victory is yours.
