Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
Sitting on my own,
All alone—
Time on my hands,
Thinking of You.
Wondering… wondering…
Longing to hear You speak—
Words of comfort,
Love,
And peace.
Sitting on my own,
All alone,
As deep thoughts press upon my mind:
How You left Your throne
In search of me,
When all was lost—
You sought me out
Until the break of day.
Sitting on my own,
All alone,
Remembering all You've given—
Blessings overflowing
Like a mighty rushing stream.
Sitting on my own,
All alone,
Recalling how You died for me,
Your sacrifice,
The greatest love of all.
Yes—sitting on my own,
All alone—
But the sun is shining,
And all is well,
Because I know my Saviour wants me.
Devotional Thought
There are moments in life when we find ourselves sitting alone, whether in quiet solitude or in the ache of loneliness. But even in those still places, God meets us. This poem is a tender reminder that we are never truly alone.
Christ stepped down from His heavenly throne, not to condemn, but to seek, rescue, and bring us into the warmth of His love. And even as you are alone and in silence, it is not empty—it's filled with His presence, peace, and purpose. In our stillness, we can hear His voice more clearly and remember all He's done for us.
Why not recount His blessings, sacrifice, and unwavering desire towards us as you reflect?
When you are in Christ, remember He shines not just in the skies but in our hearts- so know that Jesus, our Saviour, wants us, loves us and is never far from you.
Today, sit quietly, breathe deeply, and remember: you are seen, known, and cherished by the One who gave everything for you. Written by Angela Doreen 5 June 2009
