"He has shown you, O man, what is good;

And what does the Lord require of you

But to do justly, to love mercy,

And to walk humbly with your God?"

Micah 6:8 (NKJV)

This powerful verse reveals God's requirement for His people: to live as a corporate man, one who wholly surrendered his allegiance to God and His purposes. Such a person prioritises God's will above personal desires, walking in justice, mercy, and humility.

Yet, for the "old man," the sinful nature, this standard was impossible to fulfil. But when Christ went to the cross, He triumphed over sin and imparted His divine nature into all who believe in Him. Through His resurrection, He created the "new man" (Ephesians 4:24), empowered by the Spirit to live in a way that pleases God.

If we are truly new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), we are no longer governed by self but by His life in us. As Paul declares, "It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me" (Galatians 2:20). Thus, as the corporate man, united with Christ and His Body, we can fulfil God's righteous requirements, not by our strength, but by His grace at work within us.
